The lexicon of any language is in a constant state of enrichment. Among the various sources contributing to lexical growth, borrowing from other languages stands out as a linguistic phenomenon intricately tied to societal development and historical context. In Louis Gardel’s “Fort Saganne,” he adeptly demonstrates how these linguistic exchanges can foster cultural and social interactions across seemingly disparate languages and cultures.
The objective of this study is to illustrate the significance of linguistic borrowings in language formation and evolution, emphasizing their impact on facilitating cultural and social exchanges within linguistic communities.
